The story of edvella's playground: Joining the PC crowd (1996-2000)
In 1996, by means of the Internet we started having contact with people outside of our country. It was important for us, being such a small island, to share our ideas with various people with similar tastes. By the end of the year, more of our efforts were based upon needs and requests from foreign people. The next obvious step was the launch of our website in 1997. I also wanted to have the Pantera Designs team made up from international developers or at least to have the possibility to work with them on some projects.
Titles:
Space Marauders '96 (Amiga 1996) : An updated Space Marauders with a highly polished look and tweaked gameplay to provide the ultimate Space Invaders game.
Fantacalcio Team Selector (1996-1998) : A program designed for selecting the squad for the weekend fantasy soccer matches. The program is based on a set of rules used by the Club Napoli Internet.
Picview (1998-1999) : A picture viewer where the main target was to provide a random function for those people who don't want to get into the trouble of selecting which pictures to view.
Graffiti (1998) : An interface designed to sit on the desktop of every professional computer user. Provides a quick and simple organiser for those that don't want to clutter their desks with useless paperwork. Licensed for use within Coordinator program.
Aitor (1999) : A program that learns the language that you dare to teach him by conversing with him. I'm describing the software as masculine since it's an experiment in AI with a male name.
Audiovisualmagitastic (1999-2002) : This was my first popular software program. It caused my hosting provider to shut down the website due to the amount of downloads. I actually liked using the program a lot and put all my efforts to always add new features to this multimedia player. I also learned a lot of programming by developing it.
Tachophobia (2000) : Afraid of high
speed? You will be...
A return to gaming for Pantera Designs with a challenge
of controlling a high speed spaceship through a cave network.
It even includes a key for autodestruction if the speed
becomes too much to handle!
